How are we working to end mass shootings?

We believe lasting change starts with smart, realistic solutions. Each new Congress, we look closely at the bills on the table to find the ones that can actually pass and make a real impact. Our focus is on legislation that can earn bipartisan support, because laws backed by both sides of the aisle are the ones that stand the test of time. They’re also less likely to be reversed in the next Congress.

Right now, we’re supporting two bills that could save lives:

THE BUMP ACT

The BUMP Act bans bump stocks and other devices that turn semi-automatic firearms into rapid-fire weapons of war.

THE GOSAFE ACT

The GOSAFE Act regulates assault weapons and high-capacity magazines to reduce the deadliest kinds of shootings.

These are practical, common-sense solutions that can help move us toward a future where mass shootings are no longer a part of American life.
